Police makes arrest- indecent exposure at various points on the Westgate Park Running Trail.

The Dothan Police Department has recently received a number of calls reporting indecent exposure at various points on the Westgate Park Running Trail. In response to these complaints, members of the Investigative Division have been conducting various surveillance missions in conjunction with three female officers who have run undercover on the trail. Officers have run just over one hundred miles in an effort to catch the suspect, an effort that has finally paid off. Early this morning undercover officers had a confrontation with the suspect in the Kiwanis Parking lot then followed the suspect until other surveillance members were able to conduct a traffic stop and take the suspect into custody.

**Charges are being signed against the suspect at this time for two documented incidents. Investigators are hoping to sign additional warrants for those victims who have encountered this suspect on the trail and are asking anyone who has been victimized to please come forward with information about their case. Victims are encouraged to call Investigator Allums at 615-3647 or Sergeant Glover at 615-3640.

·        Adam Christopher Ash, black male, 23 years of age, of Williams Drive was arrested and charged with two counts of indecent exposure with a $1000 bond.

Booking photograph is being held at this time as we are hoping more victims will come forward and be afforded the opportunity to identify the perpetrator and press additional charges.

Gregory J. Benton
Chief of Police
