The Enterprise Police Department along with Coffee County DHR responded to a residence in the 200 block of Warren Road, at 05:58 A.M. in regard to a possible Child Abuse case. Upon arrival officers observed the suspect identified as Henry Louis Thompkins (44) exit the residence covered in blood.
At that time Thompkins was detained, and a search of the residence was conducted and officers discovered a ten year old female had been stabbed numerous times in the neck area. The victim was transported to Medical Center Enterprises and later transported by helicopter to Birmingham’s Children’s Hospital. The victim was in critical condition and at this time, her condition is unknown due to being transported by air.
Thompkins will be charged with Attempted Murder at this time and other charges are pending. Due to the victim’s age and her unknown condition no personal information will be released at this time. The suspect lived at the residence, but is not related to the victim.
