Fired Ala. clerk seeks additional damages

MOULTON, Ala (AP) — The former Lawrence County payroll clerk awarded $401,000 in back pay and damages in a wrongful termination lawsuit against the county commission is asking for an additional $650,886.40.
Baronica Warren filed a motion through her attorney, Gregg Smith, on Monday stating she has virtually no chance of finding employment equivalent to the position she held prior to her wrongful termination.
She says she should be awarded an amount in front pay to make her whole.
At a trial in federal court earlier this month, a jury ruled in favor of Warren on all five counts in her case.
In her suit, Warren accused the commission of firing her for filing a discrimination claim with the Equal Opportunity Commission. Commission attorney Dave Martin says an appeal is being considered.
