UPDATE WITH VIDEO: Bentley declares state of emergency due to fire

 Associated Press
MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) — Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley has declared a state of emergency for Baldwin County due to a large fire in Gulf State Park.
Authorities say the blaze has scorched more than 200 acres in the park.
Bentley said in a statement Monday that state resources are being used to contain the fire as quickly as possible.
Bentley says the fire has not affected the beaches of Gulf Shores or Orange Beach. He said he's encouraging people who plan to travel there for the Fourth of July holiday to continue with those plans.
Bentley said he has directed the Alabama Emergency Management Agency and the Alabama Forestry Commission to provide the necessary assessment of damages and seek state and federal assistance for the affected areas.
