On June 15, 2011 Dothan Police Department Narcotic Investigators attempted to make contact with a suspicious person in the parking lot of Kmart. The suspect fled on foot into the wooded area north of Kmart where officers caught up. As police attempted to take him into custody he began to physically resist. After the suspect was secured officers searched the area and recovered two bags of cocaine. The suspect was transported to the Dothan City Jail and charged with narcotic charges as well as resisting arrest.
· Fred Johnson, black male, 43 years of age, of Jeff Street was arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance with a $ 10,500 bond.
