Former mayor of White Hall, Al. has been found guilty of tax charge

WHITE HALL, Ala.  — According to WSFA -TV in Montgomery, John Jackson, the former mayor of White Hall, Al. has been found guilty of tax charges and sentenced to two years in prison, plus a fine of $25,000.

Federal prosecutors said Jackson filed false tax returns between 2004 and 2006 that didn't report some of the income he and his wife earned. They say he also didn't report money he received from the city or money he diverted from nonprofit companies.

Jackson was also ordered to pay more than $11,000 in restitution and sentenced to one year of supervised release.
