Father's Day at Blue Springs State Park

 As the summer heat hit its highs today , the parking lot filled up fast as plenty of families found a cool way to celebrate Father's Day by visiting Blue Springs State Park in Blue Springs, Alabama. 

  Many families celebrated by Swimming, Grilling and Fishing. some even enjoyed camping at the park.
Brian Meeder from Clairs House Girls Home of Panama City, Fl. stated that they have been here at the park camping since Friday. Meeder stated, "We come to the park every Quarter to let our girls enjoy the camping and swimming here at the park"."We feel this Park is very safe and is family orientated and the staff works hard to keep it that way".

  Speaking to the Tim Petty Family who was enjoying a nice quiet day celebrating Fathers Day sitting in the shade on the bank of the pond fishing with his wife and kids. Petty stated that his wife tried to surprise him by blindfolding him when they left the house in Enterprise and attempted to bring him to the park for a Father's Day Surprise for a fishing trip but he figured out where he was being taken before they arrived! Petty's Son was so excited when he caught his first fish today for his daddy !

While others enjoyed their selves  either fishing or making a big splash in the 68 Degree spring water Kenny Williams and his family from Dothan, Echo & Skipperville  enjoyed Father's Day Sitting in the shade eating Grilled Corn on the Cob and other grilled food or eating a cold watermelon.

Senator Beasley
 Senator Billy Beasley and his wife Rebecca spent the afternoon at the park with their two small granddaughters.
Senator Beasley (D) serves 28th district which includes Barbour County, home of Blue Springs St. Park. The Senator's wife stated that this is one of their favorite places to visit.

  If you haven't been to BLUE SPRINGS STATE PARK you should make a visit one day soon and enjoy their nice cold springs that pumps 3,600 gallons of water from the underground spring per minute.
Facilities include modern and primitive campgrounds, picnic shelters, tables, grills, comfort stations, and playground.

 Blue Springs is open 7 a.m. to sundown, year round and has very reasonable entrance fees. The Fees are listed below.

Adults (Weekdays): $2
Adults (Weekends): $3
Child (6 years -11 years old): $1
Child (5 and Under):  Free
Seniors (age 62 and older) & Disabled Citizens: $1
