On May 29, 2012 the Dothan Police Department Narcotic Unit served a search warrant at a residence located in the 100 block of Young America Drive. As officers approached the front door and announced our presence, Dedrick Neal opened the door and then slammed it shut. Entry was made into the residence which was also occupied by two children. Officers located Neal in a back bedroom where he resisted arrest. Once in custody approximately twenty-one grams of crack cocaine was located inside his underwear along with several pieces thrown about the floor. During a search of the residence approximately eleven ounces of marijuana was found along with drug paraphernalia.
· Dedrick Neal, black male, 28 years of age, of Young America Drive was arrested and charged with First Degree Possession of Marijuana, Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, two counts of Chemical Endangering the Welfare of a Child, and Failure to Affix a Tax Stamp with bonds totaling $75,000.
