Dothan Police Department responded to an armed robbery at Discount Tobacco Outlet, 4183 West Main Street

On September 17, 2011 the Dothan Police Department responded to an armed robbery at Discount Tobacco Outlet, 4183 West Main Street just after 7:00 p.m. Upon arrival, police learned a white male entered the store armed with a large knife and instructed the clerk to stay in the restroom. The suspect then blocked the restroom door and let a second suspect into the building. The suspects then took cash and miscellaneous items and left the store. The clerk was then able to exit the bathroom unharmed and call police.

The suspects are both described as white males, approximately 6’0 tall, medium build. The first suspect to enter the business was described as wearing a black skull cap or doorag over his head. The second suspect was described as wearing a dark tee shirt, khaki shorts with short brown hair. Police are asking anyone with information about the case or identity of the suspect to call the Dothan Police Department or CrimeStoppers 334-793-7000.

* The stores surveillance system captured the robbery however the weekend staff did not have the ability to burn the incident to DVD. Investigators will be returning to the location today to collect video. Copies will be made for media as early as possible; an email will be sent whenever they are ready.
