Chief Greg Benton was recently nominated for the Patriot Award

Chief Greg Benton was recently nominated for the Patriot Award for service members for the support given to the family members of deployed soldiers by a member of the Dothan Police Department. Military officials will present this award to Chief Benton at 2:00 p.m. today in the conference room. Members of the media are invited to join us as we congratulate the Chief for receiving this commendation.

Pededstrian struck by moving van

DOTHAN:  Dothan Communications Center dispatched a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle on Ross Clark Circle in front of Alabama Slammer, 2900 block of Ross Clark Circle.

Dothan Fire Engine 3 ( Westgate ) responded. They found a male subject in the roadway that had been struck by a moving van. From sources on the scene the male subject is beleived to have stepped into the path of the van.

Dothan Fire called a trauma alert, serious injuries. The patient was transported by a local ambulance, emergency, to Flowers Hospital.

Dothan Police called for the CRASH team investigators from Dothan Police to respond to investigate the accident.
