Dothan Police makes narcotics arrest while in search for Kasondra Strickland for warrants

On June 26, 2012, Dothan Police patrolmen went to a residence in the 100 block of Woods Drive in an attempt to make contact with Kasondra Strickland who had outstanding warrants for her arrest. Upon arrival, Officers met with the homeowner, Abby Newton. Newton gave officers consent to enter the residence and search for Strickland. While inside the residence officers saw several pieces of drug paraphernalia and illegal narcotics to include syringes, a digital scale, a bag containing Lortab prescription pills and a crystal like substance wrapped in tinfoil, which was later determined to be sugar cubes containing Lysergic Acid Diethylamide (LSD). While searching for Strickland officers also found Leigh Manning hiding inside a closet and discovered Manning was in possession of methamphetamine. Strickland was then located and placed under arrest. Narcotic Investigators responded to the scene and following a complete investigation, made a total of four arrests for various narcotic charges.



·        Kasondra Kay Strickland, white female, 23 years of age, of New Brockton, Alabama was arrested and charged with outstanding misdemeanor warrants, Drug Trafficking and Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance with bonds totaling $75,000 plus misdemeanor fees.

·        Abby Gail Newton, white female, 26 years of age, of Woods Drive was arrested and charged with Drug Trafficking and Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance with bonds totaling $75,000.

·        Leigh Dehannon Manning, white female, 41 years of age, of Skipper Road was arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance with a $15,000 bond.
