41 bags of marijuana found in room at Americian Inn Motel 3118 East Main Street

On December 14, 2011 the Dothan Police Department Narcotics Unit received information that marijuana was being kept and sold from, the American Inn, 3118 East Main Street Room by a male named Johnny. Narcotic officers conducted an investigation after which they served a search warrant at the location. Upon entering the room officers found the room to be occupied by Johnny Peterman, Billie Wiggins, and a three year old toddler in the bed. Officers immediately smelled the odor of marijuana coming from inside the room. During the search of the motel room officers recovered 41 bags (approximately .25 pounds) that contained marijuana. Both Peterman and Wiggins were charged with Possession of Marijuana and Chemical Endangerment of a Child.

·        Johnny Peterman, black male, 29 years of age, of Marella Court was arrested and charged with First Degree Possession of Marijuana and Chemical Endangerment of a Child with a $30,000 bond.

·        Billie Wiggins, white female, 26 years of age, of Pine Hills Drive was arrested and charged with First Degree Possession of Marijuana and Chemical Endangerment of a Child with a $30,000 bond.

LEE COUNTY ALABAMA - MISSING 17 YEAR OLD

LEE COUNTY, AL (WTVM) – Lee County Sheriff's Office needs the public's help finding a 17-year-old girl who has been missing for two weeks.
According to authorities, Haley Brooke Hilyer was last seen at Beauregard High School on November 30.
Hilyer's guardian parents told the Lee County Sheriff's Office that she had left the school without permission.
She is described as a white female, around 5'2, and 120 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

House fire takes one life of 27 year old Marcoleus Copeland

VALLEY, AL (WTVM) -
Valley police have identified the victim in Thursday morning's fatal house fire as 27-year-old Marcoleus Copeland.  Police believe the blaze started in the kitchen and spread to the rest of the home.
A person noticed the flames in the 5500 block of 55^th Street and called 911. When firefighters arrived, the fire was fully involved. Once the smoke settled, they found Copeland's body in the front bedroom.
The call came in just before 5:00 am. Police said the victim lived there alone. The house was destroyed. 
No word if foul play is suspected.  The Valley Police Department and Alabama State Fire Marshal's Office are working the case.

A Miami police officer is not hurt but perhaps a bit embarrassed today after the patrol car he was driving ended up atop a telephone pole Tuesday morning.

Officer J. Brutus was driving near the intersection of NW 6th Avenue and 67th street in Miami just before rush hour Tuesday when he bent over from the driver's seat to pick up a fallen pen.

With his mind distracted and his eyes off the road, Brutus, a four-year veteran of the department, drove his car off the road and right into the direction of a nearby pole.

Instead of crashing into the pole, however, Brutus hit one of the pole's wires first, propelling his cruiser to a 45-degree angle against the pole.

"His vehicle rode on to the tension cord of this pole," Brutus's colleague, Miami police spokesperson Detective Willie Moreno, told local ABC affiliate WPLG-10.

Brutus was briefly trapped inside the patrol car before being freed by Miami Fire Rescue workers.  He walked away from the scene unharmed.

The car later was towed away but not before rescue workers had to bring in a crane to lower it down.

The local utility company, Florida Power & Light, shut off power in the area for several hours after the incident, both to protect Officer Brutus and because the crash occurred in a residential area.

The Miami Police Department has opened a procedural invegistation into the incident, WPLG reports, that could see Brutus face disciplinary actions including the permanent loss of his take-home vehicle.

Dothan Police Department responded to a vehicle theft in progress in the 400 block of Railroad Avenu

On December 13, 2011 the Dothan Police Department responded to a vehicle theft in progress in the 400 block of Railroad Avenue. The victim stated he pulled into a residence on Railroad Avenue and left his truck running while he went briefly into the residence. He stated while inside he heard the truck door shut so he ran outside and saw a male backing the truck out of the driveway. The victim said he was able to run and jump into the truck with the suspect who he detained until police arrived.

·        Willie Charles Dickens, black male, 50 years of age, of East Newton Street was arrested and charged with First Degree Theft of Property with a $5,000 bond.

Dothan Police Department responded to a burglary and possible kidnapping call

On December 12, 2011 the Dothan Police Department responded to a burglary and possible kidnapping call. The person reporting the incident stated he was present at the time of the incident and said he witnessed two Hispanics males, force their way into the home, located on Denton Road, with a shotgun. According to the witness, one of the suspects was known to him as the ex-boyfriend of a twenty-four year old female who was also present at the time of the burglary. The witness stated the female and her four children (ages 1, 3, 6 and 8) were taken from the home by the suspects during early morning hours. Investigators were called to the scene which was detailed for any potential evidence. 

While investigators were present, the witness received a phone call from the twenty-four year old female during which she stated she and the kids were safe but would give no further information.  She called the witness a total of three times in the presence of investigators who stated the caller implied she was acting of her own free will during the conversation but that could not be verified. 

The Dothan Police Department Investigative Team worked over the next several hours to establish potential leads on the whereabouts of the family and developed information the family may have been taken to Phenix City. Contact was made with law enforcement agencies in Phenix City to assist with the investigation.

On December 13, 2011, our partnering agency advised they had been unable to confirm or deny the information previously developed. Because of the nature of the case, the Dothan Police Department then notified the Federal Bureau of Investigations of the case with the intent to exhaust all efforts in order to locate parties involved in the case to ascertain if the family left our area voluntarily. Multiple agencies partnered with us as the effort increased throughout the day in this investigation.

On December 14, 2011, law enforcement located and arrested Adan Martinez Miguel at approximately 2:00 a.m. for his involvement in the case. Miguel was arrested at a residence in Phoenix City, Alabama. The victim and her four children were located at the residence unharmed. The victim stated she and her children were ordered into a vehicle in Dothan at gunpoint and had in fact been held against their will ever since. The suspect is in custody in Russell County and will be transported back to Dothan later today. Investigators say the second suspect remains at large. The suspect has been described as a Hispanic male, 20-25 years of age, stocky build with an alias name of “The Dog”. Police are asking anyone with information about the case or identity of the second suspect to call the Dothan Police Department or CrimeStoppers 334-793-7000.

·        Adan Martinez Miguel, Hispanic male, 21 years of age, of Phenix City, Alabama was arrested and charged with five counts of First Degree Kidnapping and one count of First Degree Robbery with bonds totaling $ 3,600,000.

Dothan Police responded to a day care bus crash in the 2300 block of Denton Road at 2:46 p.m. today

The Dothan Police Department Traffic Division responded to a day care bus crash in the 2300 block of Denton Road at 2:46 p.m. today. Traffic officers are on the scene of that crash investigating at this time. A preliminary investigation has revealed the bus had eight children on board at the time of the crash. 

No injuries were sustained by any of the children on board. The traffic investigator stated the driver of the bus came to a stop in the 2300 block of Denton Road and exited the vehicle in front of a day care. 

When the driver exited the vehicle, it began rolling backwards at which point the driver attempted to re-enter the bus. The driver was run over by the moving vehicle and sustained moderate injuries. 

The vehicle continued to travel in reverse crossing Denton Road and Briarwood Drive. The vehicle came to a stop after colliding into a residence. Again, we are confirming only the driver was injured, no children were injured in the collision. 

The Dothan Police Department has made contact with five of the guardians and is attempting to make contact with the other three at this time. All children involved have been returned to the day care on Denton Road, parents needing further information may call their care facility.

Dothan Police Department responded to a theft of property call at Belk’s department stor

On December 10, 2011 the Dothan Police Department responded to a theft of property call at Belk’s department store.  Security members of the store had detained the suspect, Ronald Withrow, after observing him leave the store with several items of jewelry which he had placed in his pockets. Withrow admitted to stealing the merchandise and was arrested for theft of property.

Dothan woman arrested for stolen Apple Ipad’s

On December 11, 2011 the Dothan Police Department made a felony arrest after police detained a woman who was in possession of stolen Apple Ipad’s. Investigators say the devices had recently been stolen and an open investigation was ongoing. The electronics have now been recovered and the case will be closed following the arrest.

·        Catherine Mallard, black female, 59 years of age, of Third Avenue was arrested and charged with Second Degree Receiving Stolen Property with a $2,500 bond.

You'd think that if were going to let someone stick a syringe into your genitals, you'd want them to have a medical degree of some sort. Or at least a masters in communications. Not this guy! Death by penis procedure.
The Daily Mail says the preeminent Fake Dr. Kasia Rivera killed a 22-year-old "patient" by injecting his penis with silicone, in the hopes that it would expand and blossom. Instead, it poisoned him. According to the Mail, this kind of thing is happening more and more—amateur "pumping parties," (shudder) wherein people congregate for untrained silicone injections. I wonder what the music and snacks are like? This will probably be Rivera's last pumping party, however, as she's being charged with manslaughter and "unauthorized practice of medicine," which is putting it quite mildly.

Macy's has fired a Christian woman for refusing to violate her religious beliefs. Her offense? She prevented a man dressed as a woman from entering the women's dressing room.
According to Liberty Counsel, Natalie Johnson says she saw the young man walk out of the women's fitting room and politely told him that he could not go back in because it was for women only. The cross-dressing young man claimed that he is a "female." Johnson said that he was wearing make-up and girl's clothing, but clearly he was a male. The cross-dresser was accompanied by five other individuals.
The group argued with expletives that Macy's is LGBT-friendly, to which Johnson replied that Macy's is also non-discriminatory toward religion, and that it would go against her religious beliefs to lie that he was a woman or compromise with homosexuality. The group then demanded to speak with a manager.
Johnson's boss referred her to Macy's LGBT policy which allows "transgender" people to change in any dressing room they want.
The manager demanded that she comply with the LGBT policies or lose her job. Johnson refused to go against her sincerely held religious beliefs and was terminated from her job.
Macy's has essentially opened women's dressing rooms to every man. The LGBT agenda has become the theater of the absurd.

Email Macy's President Terry Lundgren and urge him to immediately apologize to Natalie, reinstate her position with Macy's and put safeguards in place to protect women customers from men who would enter their dressing areas.

Man charged in two Enterprise bank robberies

Enterprise police have arrested a 23-year-old man on charges he robbed the Community Bank and Trust bank earlier this week in Enterprise.

According to a statement from the Enterprise Police Department, police arrested Benjamin Smith, of Enterprise. The statement said the police investigation has revealed Smith as the “lone offender” in the robbery, which happened Monday morning around 10 a.m.

Police released information after the robbery that a man wore a motorcycle helmet along with a hooded sweatshirt as he entered the bank.

Police said the man then approached a teller and demanded money. The suspect did not show a firearm, but the teller was led to believe he had one tucked near his waist.

The suspect escaped with an undisclosed amount of money.

The police statement also said additional investigation led police to charge Smith with another earlier bank robbery in Enterprise, which occurred at the Citizen’s Bank branch on Rucker Boulevard in February 2010.

Police say Smith is currently held without bail at the Coffee County Jail.

A Carroll High School student was charged with felony marijuana possession on Thursday after authorities said he brought drugs to the school.

OZARK—A Carroll High School student was charged with felony marijuana possession on Thursday after authorities said he brought drugs to the school.

Ozark City Schools Superintendent Mike Lenhart confirmed a student was apprehended by authorities after bringing to school a considerable amount of marijuana, which Lenhart described as a golf-ball size amount of the drug.

Authorities said the student, who is 16, had about $40 worth of the drug in his possession. The student was charged with first-degree possession of marijuana and his case was turned over to the Department of Youth Services.

Lenhart said the student could face expulsion pending a full investigation.

“This was an isolated incident considering the amount that was brought to the school. There are occasions where students have brought drugs to school, but it is unusual for us to have a situation such as this,” he said.

No other information on the case was available Thursday because the student is a juvenile.

Inland Convenience Store located on East Broad Street was robbed by a white male

Wednesday evening November 30th 2011 at approximately 8:55 p.m. the Inland Convenience Store located on East Broad Street was robbed by a white male described as 5’ tall and weighing approximately 130 pounds.  The suspect was wearing a grey zipped up hoodie with dark pants.  The suspect has facial hair in the form of a goatee.  He never produced a weapon, but made indications he did have a weapon.  No one was injured in the robbery.  Anyone with information on this case is urged to contact Ozark Police at 774-5111 or the Wiregrass Violent Crimes and Drug Task Force at 774-0482.

Ford is recalling more than 128,000 Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan sedans from the 2010 and 2011

Ford is recalling more than 128,000 Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan sedans from the 2010 and 2011 model years because the wheels can fall off the cars.

The recall affects only cars with 17-inch steel wheels built from April 1, 2009 through April 30, 2009, and from Dec. 1, 2009 through Nov. 13, 2010.

Federal regulators say that bolts holding the wheels on can fracture, causing a vibration. If the vibration is ignored, the wheels can separate from the car.

Ford says it's not aware of any crashes or injuries caused by the problem.

Dealers will replace the lug nuts on all four wheels and check the rear disc brake surface. The recall is expected to begin around Jan. 24.

Sex offender, mother plead guilty to killing 2-year-old daughter

GASTONIA, NC (WBTV) - A registered sex offender pleaded guilty Wednesday morning to killing a 2-year-old.
Jason Michael Wells, 33, agreed to a plea deal in Gaston County Superior Court on charges of second degree murder and babysitting as a registered child sex offender.

Wells has been sentenced to 124 to 158 months which is between 10-13 years in prison.
The child's mother, Shanna Dawn Lanham, 32, also agreed to a plea deal on the charge of second degree murder. She was sentenced to 108 to 139 months in prison.
Addision died from a sepsis infection July 21. Investigators say the girl also had a broken leg that had been untreated for more than a week.
Gaston County Police Capt. J.W. Human says investigators are awaiting a report from the North Carolina Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
Lanham told authorities she left Addison with Wells while she was at work. They were staying at the America's Best Inn in Bessemer City.

Wells said the girl was unresponsive and he called Lanham to come back to the motel to check on her daughter. When Lanham arrived, she called Gaston County 911.
The girl was taken to Gaston Memorial Hospital where she died that evening.

Lanham and Wells were both charged with involuntary manslaughter, felony child abuse, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Wells was also charged with failing to notify the sheriff's department with a change of address because he is a registered sex offender, and for babysitting a minor while being a sex offender.
On Wednesday, August 28, the North Carolina Department of Corrections said Lanham's probation officer, Whit Ogg, resigned from his position.
NCDOC spokesman Keith Acree confirmed that a member of Lanham's family repeatedly reached out to Ogg via Facebook urging him to investigate the welfare of the child.
Acree, however, could not confirm other media reports which alleged that Ogg took no action to look into the matter.
Ogg was hired in October 2009 to work for the DOC in Gaston County
